Day 1
We went off on our travels to our camping site. Although I am from London and the distance is not Cornwall scale (last Summer we had a 'stay-cation' which involved a LOT of rain in a cottage that we feared was going to flood... but that's another story for another time) but it was a reasonably long journey so I decided the previous day that I would download the first episode of the BBC modernisation of Sherlock Holmes (which is, you would know if you've read more of this blog, one of my favourite TV programmes) off iTunes and then I could watch it in the car!
This idea did work and it kept me entertained for the whole journey! The bad news - I had very little charge left, the only way of charging it was by plugging it into the laptop and the laptop had no charge. So basically, I would have to somehow survive without my iPod nano. Now if you know me well then you will understand that I rarely go anywhere without my iPod, so this was like torture for me!
As we went in we set up the tent - with much struggle may I add (it was extremely windy and I had no clue how to set up the tent), then me and my sister decided to explore the games room.
When we entered the Games Room on the site there was a loud ruckus of children clunking around, chucking hooplas and just generally running. The only area we could see that was free was a long canteen style table with some Jenga pieces on it. Without a moments hesitation we both ran over to the table, shoved ourselves down and began to pile the pieces up. Of course, I won almost every time, but my sister insisted on playing until she won.
Later for dinner we found a local carvery that did a deal where it was £3.59 for a carvery meal from Monday - Saturday - obviously not on a Sunday as that would be ridiculous from a moneymaking perspective... sorry, rambling again, I do that when I've been watching or reading Sherlock Holmes...anyway, then we settled to bed for the only comfortable night I had for my whole stay!
